After a couple of weeks feeling nauseous, exhausted, and a bit edgy, you realize that you won’t be wearing your regular clothes any longer. It’s time to jump into the world of maternity clothes. How can we, Jewish fashionistas, combine modesty, maternity, and beauty?
To be honest, I didn’t buy one piece of maternity clothing during my pregnancy. It wasn’t because I didn’t gain weight like the lucky ones among us, but just because I wore my modest maxi dresses until the ninth month.
If you need more variety to go to work or to shul, or you just want to feel beautiful in this new body, don’t worry. There are plenty of options that fit all kinds of budgets.
Let’s start with something fun and seasonal.

The modest clothing fashion marketplace ModLi has fantastic options to offer pregnant women who are looking for modest items.Their maternity dresses are well designed and very trendy.
A Pea in the Pod also has a line of modest maternity outfits, including gorgeous and comfortable dresses, like this one.
Pregnant women who are on more of a budget can also find amazing items in stores that combine style with affordability. Believe it or not, Target has an entire line dedicated to modest maternity clothes, where you can find super cute pieces like this berry maroon dress.
H&M has a wide variety of maternity options, too. Check out this adorable piece, aptly named MAMA Knit Sweater.
Some of you may be like me, and not want to buy new maternity clothes. If you’d rather adapt your current modest wardrobe to your new body, a couple of items are available on my online boutique Parisian Closet.
You can always throw a comfy and poppy dress/sweater on top of a pair of leggings or a skirt.
You can also wear a blouse designed to be fashionably loose on the top of a tube skirt, and finish this look with leather boots.
